Y3 Residential visit to Austerfield
For the first time, in March 2007, the Y3 year group went on a residential trip to Austerfield Field Study Centre. Each class spent 1 night and 2 days at this marvellous educational field centre sited in the old village school in Austerfield near Doncaster. It is a wonderful spot to enjoy learning and adventure in a safe and natural spot with great amenities and an expert centre staff to organise the activities.  Children have the opportunity to complete part of the Year 3 National Curriculum for the study of rocks and soils as well as orienteering outdoor adventure, team-building and problem solving and star gazing, an introduction to astronomy!  As well as this, there is time to fit in a tour of the animal house and the opportunity to handle exotic creatures. It is all a truly amazing adventure and the children returned happy and tired!
